Abstract:

Below is a list of bugs fixed in DeKlarit 4.5.2:

The Business Component rules editor did not work (coloring, intelligence, etc) if you had Silverlight 2.0 Beta SDK installed.

Error running a WCF client with security enabled in DeKlarit 4.5.1

Abstract:

When running a WCF client with DeKlarit Security enabled ('Enable Permission Based Authorization' = true AND 'Authorization Store' = 'Deklarit Security Database') an InvalidOperationException was thrown with the message "The username is not provided. Specify username in ClientCredentials".

To fix this issue, download the attached zip file and unzip it to <DeKlarit>\2008\Addins\TemplateProjects\WinGeneratorInfragistics\Assemblies. Make sure you delete the generated projects and run the WinGeneratorInfragistics addin again.

Localized Web Security Console

Abstract:

When using security in any generated web project, DeKlarit 4.5.1 generates the entry points to manage 'Users' and 'Roles'. It also generates a SecurityResources resource file which contains all the strings used in the security-related features, but some strings were not localized.

The attached zip file contains the necessary templates to localize the strings from the menu and the path displayed in the breadcrumb section.

Unzip the files to <DeKlarit 4.5.1>\<VSVersion>\Addins\TemplateProjects. Keep the zip file structure and copy the templates to the corresponding folder.

This fix is for DeKlarit 4.5.1 and will be included in later versions.

User and Role grids are rendered in grey

Abstract:

In DeKlarit 4.5.1 (either Visual Studio version), the grids from the 'Security' tab of the WebInfragistics generated apps are not being drawn with the default color when using Infragistics 2008 Vol 2.

This is due to a difference in the Infragistics' suite behavior (for the above version).

To fix it, unzip the current attachment to <DeKlarit 4.5.1>\<VSVersion>\Addins\TemplateProjects\WebGeneratorInfragistics\WebSecurity\Aspx and run the WebGeneratedInfragistics addin again.

This fix is for DeKlarit 4.5.1 and will be included in later versions.

Issues fixed in DeKlarit 4.2

The DeKlarit Database Security was not working with Oracle.
In some cases, the SQL code for executing a FillPage on a multiple-level DataProvider was not correctly formed for SQL Server.
The NOLOCK keyword was not being added in Fill methods for Business Components even if the "Read Uncommitted" property was set to true.
The NOLOCK keyword was not being added in DataReaders even if the "Read Uncommitted" property was set to true.
The Business Object add-in was not exposing the .Filter property for Data Providers.
The WSE Add-in did not translate server exceptions to local exceptions when invoking Fill methods.
Code generated by the WSE Add-in was failing when a Data Provider parameter was an enumeration that had an empty value.
In the asp.net generator, Date parameters in Data Providers were initialized to the current date. Now they are empty unless the 'Default Value' property is used.
In the asp.net generators, an unhandled exception was thrown when a row with a duplicated primary key was added to the grid.
In the asp.net generators, sometimes it was not possible to open a control in design mode in Visual Studio.
The DynamicDataAdapterFactory class was not correctly generated for VB.NET.
In some cases, you could get a 'Not enough global stack' error when rebuilding a Business Component with complex formulas.

Unable to create DeKlarit Security Database Tables in SQL Server 2000 with DeKlarit 4.3

Abstract:

If you have 'DeKlarit Security Database' set as the 'Authorization Store' and want to target SQL Server 2000 with DeKlarit 4.3 you will get the following error when creating the security database tables:
Creating table GXA0007
Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'MAX'

Solution
Uncompress the attached zip and copy 'Deklarit.EnterpriseLibrary.Security.Database.DataAdapters.SqlServer.dll' to '<DeKlarit 4.3 installation folder>\Deklarit\bin2005\' and to '<DeKlarit 4.3 installation folder>\2005\Tools\'. Next, copy 'SqlServer.exe' file to '<DeKlarit 4.3 installation folder>\2005\Tools\Reorganizations\'.
You can also generate the necessary files for SQL Server 2000 or any other supported DBMS by using the sources (<DeKlarit 4.3 installation folder>\2005\Sources\Sources.zip) and building the DB project for the DBMS.

Make sure you backup those files before replacing them in case you want to move to SQL Server 2005 in the future.

Assembly file Deklarit.Security.UI.dll was not found

Abstract:

The following issue has been found in the Infragistics NetAdvantage Windows Forms Add-in with DeKlarit 4.3 and Infragistics NetAdvantage 2007 Volume 1:

The exception "Microsoft.Practices.CompositeUI.Services.ModuleLoadException: Assembly file Deklarit.Security.UI.dll was not found" is thrown by the generated application at startup when using 'Enable Permission Based Authorization' and 'NetAdvantage 2007 Vol.1'.

Solution
To fix this issue, uncompress the attached zip file to '<DeKlarit 4.3 installation folder>\2005\Addins\TemplateProjects\WinGeneratorInfragistics\CabApplication\'.
Delete the ProfileCatalog.xml file under your generated project and run the add-in again.

This fix is for DeKlarit 4.3 and will be included in later versions.

Does DeKlarit generate stored procedures?

Abstract:

No, it does not.

Stored procedures are supposed to give you better performance and security. The performance improvement was because execution plans for SQL sentences in stored procedures were compiled only once and then reused. This is also true with dynamic SQL statements since SQL Server 2000, so it’s really not an important issue anymore. On the other hand, when you need to dynamically build SQL sentences, stored procedures are known to be slower than dynamic SQL sentences.

Security is supposed to be better because you can let the users execute stored procedures instead of accessing the tables directly. The true is that the usual way of working with SQL Server is to create one stored procedure for each CRUD (create/retrieve/update/delete) operation in a table, so if the user can execute a stored procedure it can do anything on the tables.

From a DeKlarit point of view, we could generate stored procedures but one stored procedure for each CRUD operation will not be enough. For example, you could want to update just the CustomerBalance field in the Customer table each time you add an Invoice. This will require an extra stored procedure to just update that field. DeKlarit allows you to query the database in any way, selecting a subset of fields from multiple tables with any condition. This will require additional stored procedures. Abstract:

When running applications in the Compact Framework, you may get an error saying "This SqlceTransaction has completed; it is no longer usable."

Solution

To fix this issue, please uncompress the attached .zip file in <DeKlarit Installation Folder>\deklarit\bin2005, and in your project's 'Working Version\bin' folder.

When you create a new project, DeKlarit will automatically copy the file to the 'Working Version\bin' so you don't need to copy it manually.

WSE Add-in not generating C# correctly

Solution

To fix this issue, please uncompress the attached .zip file to <DeKlarit Installation Folder>\2005\Addins\TemplateProjects. It should overwrite an existing .dktp file.

Issues fixed in the Windows Forms generator for Infragistics Add-in:

Selection lists for subtyped attributes were not working correctly.
In selection lists, double-clicking a row in the grid opened the instance instead of closing the list and returning the value.
The caption for selection lists was 'Work With <Business Component>' instead of 'Select <Business Component>'
The C# generator did not use Default Data Providers for Selection Lists.

Solution

DeKlarit 3.5.2 fixes the following issues:

Value 0 (zero) in numerical fields was not being shown either in lists or instance reports.

Q10150 - BUG: ''Error executing add-in'' error message

When editing any metadata property value of a checked-in attribute, the source control check-out dialog is displayed. If you click the ‘Cancel’ button and try to edit any other attribute property, the check-out dialog isn’t displayed. As a result, the attribute is not automatically checked out.

This was fixed in DeKlarit 3.5.2.
